Zmanda Pro TestChange
Zmanda [] is the newest member of the Zmanda Suite of products. It combines the workload diversity of Zmanda EBR with the underlying technology of Zmanda Endpoint.
Here's everything you need to know to get up to speed on Zmanda [].
Deployment Models
Like Zmanda EBR, Zmanda [] follows a client-server architecture where a centralized management console allows admins to perform administrative tasks and build out the backup strategy.
However, unlike Zmanda EBR, Zmanda [] clients do most of the heavy lifting, including deduplication, encryption, compression, and even sending the data to storage.
This gives you the freedom to deploy a lightweight server application on-prem or in the cloud, and back up any of your workloads no matter where they are located.
Technology
As mentioned in the intro, the underlying technology of Zmanda [] is closely related to that of Zmanda Endpoint.
The benefits of this technology include:
Storage and bandwidth savings using data-dependent chunking and client-side deduplication
Restore your oldest backups just as fast as the newest with forever-incremental approach
No full re-uploads. In other words, perform a full backup only once
Compressed and encrypted in transit and at rest
Ready for use in HIPAA and GDPR-compliant environments
Complete data sovereignty. You choose where your data is stored
